The collection and processing site in Ghent is a joint venture involving Boskalis Dolman and AWS. AWS / BKD recycling nv provides a total solution for the storage and processing of contaminated soils using a process that focuses on the maximum re-use of sand and minimizing the amount of residue. 
The site in Ghent processes the following materials:

• heavily contaminated soil
• mildly contaminated soil
• contaminated sandy dredged material
• all types of contaminated sand
• contaminated roof gravel
• contaminated granulate from road building
• screened sand.

In addition, the following services are available at the site:

• the supply of washed sand with a KOPRO certificate
• extractive remediation of mineral-rich, stony materials
• the temporary storage of soil and building materials
• testing stored soil and building materials in accordance with the Belgian Vlarebo and Vlarea standards
• transportation to and from the site in Ghent.
