The Zelling Area Redevelopment project has reached another milestone: the construction work on the housing is really going to start.
Just before Christmas, the sub-contract was signed in the Village Hall in Gouderak by the Zelling Area Redevelopment Association (SHZ) and the Boskalis Heijmans Zelling Area Redevelopment Consortium (CBHHZ). Compared to the normal housing construction market at the present, the sales of the homes in the Zelling Area are quite good. Even so, a guarantee was needed from the Zelling Area Redevelopment Association (the client), together with the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, to make the signing of the contract and the actual start of construction possible. This guarantee was given recently and so the construction work can, in one of the few new housing locations in the region, actually get started. The preparations are in full swing and, if everything goes to plan, the first pile will be driven in April.
The new names for the streets in the Zelling Area have also been decided on: Havenhoofd and Zellingkade.
